The new league phase of the Champions League has finished after a chaotic final gameweek, with Liverpool and Arsenal finishing first and third respectively, while Manchester City scraped through to the play-off stage. Man City will discover whether they play Bayern Munich or Real Madrid on Friday, but Liverpool and Arsenal will not know their last-16 opponents until the play-offs have finished. However, the stellar performances of Arne Slot and Mikel Arteta's sides were not enough to see any of their players included in a best Champions League XI of the league phase that is dominated by Spanish and German clubs.
